> Responsible Management of Refrigerant Gases

Total Reclaim offers comprehensive and environmentally sound refrigerant management services.

The 3 R's of Refrigeration:

  • Recovery - Federal law prohibits the venting of refrigerant gases to the atmosphere - all refrigerants must be "recovered" and collected in recovery cylinders.

  • Recycle - The owner of a refrigeration system is entitled to "recover" and "recycle" the refrigerant through simple filtration provided they use the refrigerant in their own equipment and do not transfer ownership.

  • Reclaim - Before any recovered refrigerants may be transferred to a new owner for re-use, the refrigerants must be "reclaimed" to return them to meet industrial standards established by the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI).

Reclaiming refrigerants protects the environment and reduces the need for new refrigerants. With the declining supply and increasing cost of new refrigerant gas, reclaimed refrigerant will help to preserve the supply, extend the service life of refrigeration equipment and reduce operating costs. If not properly recovered, refrigerant gases have potential to harm the environment by depleting the ozone layer.

Since 1991, we have worked with our customers to design a variety of refrigerant management services that meet the most stringent environmental and regulatory standards, including:

Our reclaimed refrigerants are purified to Air-Conditioning Refrigerant (ARI) standards and verified by an independent (third party) laboratory. Impurities such as oil and water are separated from the refrigerant and properly managed.

We stock a wide array of clean refrigerant for sale and offer recycling and disposal services for industrial refrigeration/HVAC units, refrigerators and other appliances.
