> Community Collection Events

Collection events have been an important part of the effort to keep computers, electronics, fluorescent lamps, appliances and other items (that contain hazardous materials) out of our landfills where they can harm the environment. Individuals bring their items to the event for collection, pay a small fee, and drive away knowing their unwanted items will be managed responsibly.
Total Reclaim will assist as needed through all stages of the event including planning. At the event we can provide signage, traffic control, packaging and loading, and survey gathering to meet your needs.
We haul the collected items back to our recycling facility where they are evaluated. Some items can be refurbished for reuse, while most are processed and separated into various raw materials such as plastic, glass, steel, copper, and aluminum.
With our trained personnel and truck fleet, we routinely handle several collection events simultaneously. With literally hundreds of successful events already completed, no one is better at safely and responsibly managing the thousands of pounds of material that are collected in a single day.
Communities that wish to help individuals recycle responsibly turn to Total Reclaim year after year: Total Reclaim takes part in numerous neighborhood collection events throughout Washington and Oregon each summer, including 66 during the summer of 2007. In 2004, 2005 and 2006, Total Reclaim partnered with the non-profit organization Green Star on a one-week collection program in Anchorage, Alaska. The 2004 event was recognized as the largest single electronics recycling drive in North America.
